The attacking left-handed batsman Suresh Raina was like a breath of fresh air in the Indian setup in the late 2000s. Raina represented the new age Indian cricketers as he was an aggressive batsman who was known for smashing the bowlers all over the park. Suresh also fetched a lot of limelight for being an agile fielder. 

In his international career of over a decade, Raina scored tons and tons of runs to steer India to victory on a number of occasions. Entertaining the viewers with his attractive strokeplay and power-hitting, the 34-year-old hammered a whopping 5615 runs in the One Day format in 226 matches along with 1605 runs in 78 games in the shortest format of the game.

While Raina was a regular for India in white-ball cricket, he couldn’t enjoy the same success and fame in the purest format of the game. The Muradnagar-born got off to a blistering start in the Test cricket as he announced himself with a century on debut. However, the left-hander flattened after a promising start. The CSK batter featured in just 18 Tests for India scoring 768 runs at an average of 26.5.

Coming to the left-hander’s personal life, it can be termed as nothing less than bliss. Raina has been happily married to his childhood friend Priyanka Chaudhary. The two are madly in love with each other and are termed as the couple goals by many cricket fans.

Priyanka Chaudhary is an engineer by profession. Priyanka and Raina used to be good friends in childhood as they lived in the same locality in Gaziabad. However, they soon lost touch with each other as Priyanka’s family moved to Chandigarh before the lady left for the Netherlands for her job. It was in 2015 that the two childhood friends reunited after meeting at an airport for five minutes.

You might be surprised to know that Priyanka and Raina had an arranged marriage as the batsman’s mother took the proposal to the bride’s family. After enjoying a good courtship period, the two tied the knot in 2015. They are now parents to Gracia Raina and Rio Raina.
