T20 World Cup 2021: Brad Hogg picks his team of the tournament; fits one Indian name
Brad Hogg named this Indian player in his team
The 2021 ICC T20 World Cup has recently ended where the Australian side emerged victorious after beating New Zealand in the final match. Meanwhile, former cricketer Brad Hogg has named his best XI from the recently-concluded ICC tournament in the UAE.
As expected, he didn’t find it easy to include Indian players in his side as the ‘Men in Blue’ failed to have a great run in the T20 WC. However, he managed to ‘fit’ one name in the form of speedster Jasprit Bumrah, who picked up seven wickets in five matches. Apart from him, Hogg’s team included two players from Pakistan, five from Australia, one each from South Africa, New Zealand and Afghanistan.
“Finally found an Indian that could fit in my team. Jasprit Bumrah, obviously a very good new-ball bowler, can bowl in the middle overs with spin at the other end, it is sometimes a nice combination to have in those middle overs. He is also one of the best death bowlers going around in World Cricket at the moment,” Brad Hogg said in a recent video on his YouTube channel.
“Babar Azam will captain the team” – Hogg
The 50-year-old announced that Pakistan skipper Babar Azam will lead his side of the tournament. The right-hander had an exceptionally good season where he amassed 303 runs in six innings, including four fifties.
“Babar Azam will captain the team and open the batting as well. He has done a fantastic job by being able to control the innings. He also led his troops perfectly,” he added.
Brad Hogg’s Team Of The Tournament: Babar Azam (C), David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Matthew Wade (WK), Asif Ali, Rashid Khan, Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa
