Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) found their lost mojo back with a thrilling victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. However, this win didn’t affect their position in the Points Table as they are still struggling at the bottom.

Batting first, Kane Williamson and his men posted a par score of 141-7 on the board at the end of their 20 overs. In reply, the Challengers fell short by merely four runs after a brilliant bowling performance from SRH.

The Hyderabad-based franchise has been one of the best bowling units in the history of the cash-rich league as they have defended many low scores in the past as well. SRH’s triumph against RCB marked the 11th occasion when they defeated a side while defending a score of less than 150 runs.

Here are the two other IPL franchises close to SRH in this race:

Five-time tournament winners, Mumbai Indians (MI) have defended 150 or less at 10 times in the history of the cash-rich league. The MI Paltan’s extra-ordinary bowling attack has been one of the prime reasons behind their immense success in the IPL.

The likes of Lasith Malinga, Shane Bond, Harbhajan Singh, and Shaun Pollock and many more have been associated with them in the past. Currently, they have two of the best speedsters in world cricket in the form of Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult

Punjab Kings (10 Wins)

Punjab Kings (earlier Kings XI Punjab) haven’t been amongst the top teams in the IPL history despite a decent bowling attack. Just like MI, they have also defended 150 or less at 10 times in this multi-team tournament. Some of the top former bowlers like Mitchell Johnson, Irfan Pathan, Brett Lee, Piyush Chawla, and Ishant Sharma have been previously part of the Punjab-based franchise.

Meanwhile, India top gun Mohammed Shami is currently lading their attack alongside some quality Indian youngsters in form of Arshdeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi
