“Tendulkar name will bring MI better luck” – Mohammad Azharuddin calls for inclusion of Arjun Tendulkar

The Mumbai Indians (MI) had a poor start to their IPL 2022 campaign, with no wins in their first five games and are currently at the bottom of the table. In their sixth league encounter of the season, the squad is currently playing the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Mohammad Azharuddin, a former cricketer, has made comments to the MI management and reviewed the weaknesses in both sectors.

On asking which changes MI can do to get back on course, Azharuddin believes the team may provide Arjun Tendulkar, whose been playing well, a chance, and that they have been scooping him up in every auction. He also questioned why, after spending so much money on Tim David, he has not been playing and has been dropped from the squad.He highlighted Tim David, who has been hitting the ball at 150 in the BBL and is a fantastic player. He thinks that some players are indeed being mistreated if they are compelled to warm the bench throughout the season.
Azharuddin feels the squad did well in the auction to get the services of great batters, but that their bowling has kept poor. He believes that the squad really shouldn’t place too much stress on pacer Jasprit Bumrah. He made the argument that Bumrah should bowl an opening over to give MI a greater opportunity of scooping up wickets in the powerplay.
MI is anticipating that the Bumrah-Archer duo would become into the most threatening with the ball. However, it will have to wait a year. The rewards on the INR 8 crore investment in the English pacer have been disappointing this year. Archer, as previously said, will only be eligible from next year, depriving the franchise of a talented batsman or bowler who may have arrived for that kind of money.
