“That’s the jersey we wanted to see” – Twitterati has mixed reactions to SRH new jersey
The SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) are the latest team to introduce their IPL 2022 jerseys. The team have opted for the solid sunset orange color and the black arm and collar that makes it stand out, especially with the new sponsors. The lower matched the upper with the exact same color. This is quite different from last year when there was a blend of light and dark orange to go with a black lower. Under Kane Williamson’s leadership, SRH will hope to reverse their fortunes after a poor run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 with the redesigned jersey.
Tom Moody has been appointed as the new head coach for the IPL 2016 winners, replacing Trevor Bayliss. Former West Indies captain Brian Lara has been appointed as batting coach for the team, as well as serving as a strategic advisor. Muttiah Muralitharan remains the mentor and spin bowling coach of the side, while South Africa pace legend Dale Steyn has joined in as their fast bowling coach for the upcoming season.
It was revealed by SRH on their Twitter handle, as their captain posed with his bat and helmet. The team referred to the gear as his “Orange Armour”. In the post, they wrote: “Here’s the first look of Captain Kane in the #OrangeArmour.”
