A disappointed Virat Kohli almost swings bat at stumps after being bowled in RCB nets
Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli’s being one of the most ambitious and dedicated cricketers is known by the entire cricket fraternity and the disappointed emotions get clearly visible on his face when he fails to improve his shortcomings.
The 33-year-old is determined in the nets to iron out his flaws and strengthen his skills. Coaches and teammates have even spoken publicly about Kohli’s hunger to make each of his net session worthy with utmost focus. But if he stumbles, he feels frustrated.
During the practice session, the former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain got fuming when he failed to hit the ball and felt the impulse to hit the stumps instead with his bat.
Ahead of RCB’s next match against the Mumbai Indians on Saturday (April 9), they were practicing at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Spinners have quite restricted him from scoring big runs that he is known for. To give his best against the MI, he was seen practicing against the spinners in the nets.
Karn Sharma was the bowler and he delivered a length ball. Virat Kohli tried for a cut shot but ended up missing it and it banged onto the stumps. And this mistake angered the batsman and he almost crashed the stumps with the bat but he controlled himself and placed the stumps to get ready to face the next delivery.

Vinod Rai sheds light on the relationship between Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble
In 2017, Anil Kumble’s unceremonious exit as team India’s head coach sparked several controversies and all the blame had gone to the then Test skipper Virat Kohli. But Vinod Rai, the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administration head had shed light to the relationship between them. He made it crystal clear that Kohli wasn’t to be blamed for this in his recently published book ‘NOT JUST A NIGHTWATCHMAN: My innings in the BCCI.”
“I have made very clear in the book that Virat was only representing the team’s feelings. He was not the one (who had problems with Kumble). A lot of people have asked me ‘what was the behavior between Kohli and Kumble?’ I say ‘we didn’t see them in those three months’ and ‘there was no disturbance between the two’,” said Rai in an interview with Boria Majumdar.
“The junior members of the team felt intimidated by Kumble. So, it’s only unnecessary to pan the entire blame on Kohli,” he added.
