Brisbane Heat registered yet another defeat in front of their name during the match against Melbourne Stars in the ongoing edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2021-22. However, they fought well in the second innings with the help of brilliant half-centuries from Chris Lynn and Ben Duckett.
The duo smashed quick-fire knocks of 57 and 54 runs respectively but couldn’t get much support from the remaining team players. Duckett even went on to play one of the greatest shots of the tournament which came against the opposition’s spinner Qais Ahmed. The Englishman continued with his love for reserve sweeps and the ball went flat over the sweeper cover fence for a maximum.
The incident took place on the third delivery of the fifth over on Monday at The Gabba, Brisbane. The commentators also could not hold themselves from leaping praises for the 27-year-old for this glorious-looking unorthodox shot.

Stars beat Pierson and Co by 20 runs
Earlier, Brisbane skipper Jimmy Pierson won the toss and opted to bat first but this decision didn’t turn out to be in their favour. Despite losing the early wicket of Marcus Stoinis, the Melbourne-based franchise went on to post a massive total of 207/9 at the end of their quota of 20 overs. Joe Clarke (85) and Hilton Cartwright (79) played outstanding knocks to help their side reach 200+ against the Heat.
As mentioned earlier, no batter from Brisbane, other than Lynn and Duckett was able to contribute as they fell 20 runs short of the target. Despite conceding the much-talked-about six, Ahmed emerged as the pick of the bowlers for the Stars with his spell of 4-1-26-3.
