The second Ashes Test match is currently underway at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide where Australia held a strong position at the end of Day 1. However, the English bowlers claimed a few quick wickets on Friday to get back into the game. All-rounder Ben Stokes has been the most successful bowler for the visitors with his two scalps. 

After dismissing David Warner yesterday, the Englishman got out Cameron Green off a peach delivery on the third ball of the 112th over of the match. The right-arm pacer changed his end to bowl over the wicket and got rid of the batter on a full ball to castle Green’s stumps.

Interestingly, Ricky Ponting, who was commentating at that time, had predicted that Stokes will bowl a full delivery aiming at the timber.

Stand-in skipper Steve Smith took the right decision of batting first after winning the toss against England. Moreover, Aussie batters ensured to make the most out of this with a brilliant knock of 95 runs from Warner despite losing the quick wicket of Marcus Harris (3 off 28).

At number three, Marnus Labuschagne smashed a terrific century followed by an unbeaten half-century for Smith. The kangaroos will be looking to post a mammoth first innings total in front of the Joe Root-led side. 

In the bowling department, Stuart Broad, Ollie Robinson, and skipper Root have all claimed a wicket each apart from Stokes’ two scalps.
