Decorated all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja deserves all the credit for Chennai Super Kings’s convincing victory against Kolkata Knight Riders by two wickets. Towards the end, the Super Kings seemed in trouble as they needed 26 runs off 12 deliveries. However, it was  Jadeja who faulted his class and talent with the willow in the penultimate over to take CSK home.

Facing Prasidh Krishna in the second-last over of the match, the Indian all-rounder hammered two maximums and as many boundaries. The exploits by the Saurashtra-born ensured that CSK needed just four runs in the final over. Unsurprisingly, the 32-year-old garnered appreciation and applause from all over the cricket fraternity for his carnage with the willow.

Meanwhile, the official broadcasters of Indian Premier League 2021 also shared a video where Ravindra Jadeja walked through his emotions during the game in an interview with Shardul Thakur. However, the whole interview took a hilarious turn as CSK seamer Deepak Chahal walked into the scene with some eatables in his hand.

Chahar seemed unaware about the live interview and the same cracked up all the people present in the room. Meanwhile, talking about his performance against the KKR, Jadeja said,  “I was under pressure, I was thinking about my strength, finally I hit 20 runs in second last over and winning my team from there and so I am feeling very happy today.”

Ravindra Jadeja took the Man of the Match award home after his exploits against the Knight Riders. During the night, the all-rounder had also touched upon the emotions he went through while being in the middle in the 19th over. The 32-year-old revealed that he was just backing his strength and wants to contribute in the same manner for his IPL franchise.

“Rutu [Ruturaj Gaikwad] and Faf [du Plessis] gave us a good start. You need to be collective as a unit, whether with bat or ball. I was just backing my strength. He [Prasidh Krishna] was bowling with fine leg and square leg up. I thought he would bowl full outside off, and slow short ball. I thought he would give one ball up, and luckily, I connected well.

“After you have played five-day cricket and then to come to white-ball cricket, I was working on my bat swing. I wanted to repeat whatever I was doing. The runs in the second-last over turned out to be the match-winning over for us,” said Jadeja during the post-match presentation.
