St Kitts and Nevis Patriots won the CPL 2021 title
The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has found a new winner in the 2021 season of the tournament on Wednesday. The Dwayne Bravo-led St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SKNP) lifted their maiden title of the cash-rich league with a nail-biting win against St Lucia Kings (SLK) in the final match.
Soon after the match was over, everyone witnessed some crazy scenes at the Warner Park Sporting Complex, St Kitts and Nevis. Bravo and his men were seen in immense joy as their such celebrations were on the expected lines. The entire SKNP unit was immersed in euphoria as they were running and jumping on each other and shaking their legs while singing a celebratory song in the ground.

Dominic Drakes’ heroic ensure maiden title for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots
All-rounder Dominic Drakes turned the tables for the St Kitts and Nevis-based franchise as he stayed till the end to ensure a victory of three wickets for his side. The youngster played an outstanding knock of 48* runs off just 24 deliveries, including 3 fours and as many sixes.
Earlier, St Lucia Kings had posted a decent total of 159-7 on the board in their quota of 20 overs. Opener Rahkeem Cornwall and all-rounder Roston Chase were the top scorers for SLK with their respective knock of 43 runs and a cameo of 39 runs from Keemo Paul at the end.
In reply, SKNP lost the crucial wickets of Chris Gayle (0) and Evin Lewis (6) inside the powerplay. However, Joshua Da Silva and Sherfane Rutherford steadied the innings from there while Drakes gave the finishing touch. The latter also received the ‘Player of the Match’ award.
The title triumph also means DJ Bravo has now won 4 trophies as captain in CPL history.
