[Watch] Indian players congratulate Suranga Lakmal after dismissal in his last Test
Suranga Lakmal has announced his retirement from international cricket following the conclusion of the second Test against India in Bengaluru. Indian cricketers have come to congratulate Suranga Lakmal on his retirement from international cricket.
While the celebrations continued, Jasprit Bumrah congratulated the SL pacer on a brilliant career after cleaning up the 35-year-old cricketer. In response to Bumrah’s intervention, all the Indian players joined Lakmal. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Hanuma Vihari and Axar Patel all walked up to Lakmal and shook hands. This gesture won the hearts of cricket fans around the world.
Suranga Lakmal goes down with 288 international wickets in 70 Tests, 86 ODIs, and eight T20 Internationals. For quite a few years now, he has been Sri Lanka’s best bowler in the red-ball format.

Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne labelled Lakmal and one of the best cricketers he has seen
“One of the greatest I’ve ever seen in my professional life. I’m thrilled for him that he’ll be playing county cricket, and I’m confident he’ll excel there as well,” Karunaratne said at the end of the match.
India won the pink-ball Test in Bengaluru by 238 runs, sweeping the Sri Lankan for a clean sweep of the series. The best batsman of the test match was Shreyas Iyer, who hit two fifties, while Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin were valiant with the ball taking eight and six wickets, respectively.

Suranga Lakmal has announced that his last series with Sri Lanka will be the India series. He will then retire. The ex-India skipper Virat Kohli and Indian Team head coach Rahul Dravid walked up to Lakmal after Sri Lanka’s bowling innings on Day 2 and congratulated him.
