Team India suffered a major injury scare just a couple of days before their semi-final match against England at the ongoing T20 World Cup in Australia. Captain Rohit Sharma took a powerful blow on his forearm during an optional practice session on Tuesday (November 8).

The incident happened when he was doing his regular drills while facing India’s throwdown specialist Raghu Raghavendraa. Rohit was just a fraction of a second late in reaction to a length delivery which climbed to hit him. Following the hit, he left the session and was seen applying a bag of ice on the spot.

The Indian skipper also had a chat with mental conditioning coach Paddy Upton while icing the painful area. He later returned to take the strike, only to leave the session midway after the pain was unbearable. The medical team will assess the injury to find out about the recovery.

Renowned journalist Vimal Kumar, who is in Australia for the showpiece event, provided an update on Rohit Sharma’s injury. He posted a video while informing that the 35-year-old opener is fine and looking to be in fine touch in the nets. His caption read: “Chilled out guys ? captain is fine and batting now. In fact now hitting better now. #RohitSharma #crickettwitter.”

Although Rohit Sharma has been on point with his captaincy, he is yet to fire with the bat. He has managed to accumulate only 89 runs in five innings, with an average of just 17.80 and a strike-rate of 109.87. These numbers don’t suit him as everyone knows his capabilties.
