The two sides led by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah indulged in a hard-fought AGM festival match on Friday. The game was a 15-over affair which took place between BCCI President’s XI and Secretary XI at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata

Apart from Ganguly and Shah, several other BCCI officials including former India skipper Mohammad Azharuddin, who is a part of the working group looking into domestic cricket.

Batting first, Jay Shah and Co posted a great total of 128/3 at the end of their quota of 15 overs. Jaydev Shah, who retired at a score of 40 runs, emerged as the best batter for his side. Adding to this, Arun Dhumal (36) and Jay Shah (10*) also played well for their respective knocks.

On the other hand, Ganguly was the top bowler for his side with a decent spell of 1/19 from his 3 overs while Azharuddin figures’ read – 2-0-8-0.

In reply, the Kolkata cricketer was on his way to lead the BCCI President’s XI to an easy win. However, he retired himself out for a score of 35 runs and no other batter was able to capitalise from there in the second innings.

The bowling team’s skipper Shah bowled a terrific spell of 3-58 to take his side home in a nail-biting finish on December 3.
