Kane Williamson

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson is widely known for his sportsmanship and ability to stay calm even in the most pressurized situations. He has an image of a good guy who avoids indulging in any controversies, fights or attempts to cheat. However, he was caught claiming a dropped catch in the ongoing battle between the Kiwis and England at the T20 World Cup 2022.

Batting first, the Lions got off to a flying start as openers Jos Buttler and Alex Hales smashed bowlers all-round the park. The breakthrough for New Zealand almost came in the sixth over when Mitchell Santner deceived Buttler, who was trying to loft the ball over the covers. However, a mistimed shot went towards the Kiwis skipper who dived to get hold of the ball.

Williamson initially claimed that he took a clean catch and Buttler started walking back to the pavilion. But the replay showed that the ball slipped away from his hands to touch the ground before Williamson got hold of the ball yet again. As a result, Buttler remained not out and was called back to continue his innings.
