MLS skipper Meg Lanning opted to bat first after winning the toss at the Aurora Stadium, Launceston. However, they’re unable to post a big total on the board as Stars batters settled for 108/7 at the end of their quota of 20 overs.

Opener Elyse Villani (52) emerged as their top run-getter in the match while Maia Bouchier also played a handy knock of 32 runs. On the other hand, all Thunder’s bowlers produced decent performances and Isabelle Wong was the pick of the bowlers with her spell of 2/19.

In reply, Garth was all over the SYT’s batting unit while other bowlers all assisted her with economical overs to restrict the opposition. Hence, the Melbourne-based franchise registered a clinical 12-run victory against Hannah Darlington and co.
