On Saturday, Royal Challengers Bangalore stayed their cool to defeat the Delhi Capitals by 16 runs in game 27 of the 2022 Indian Premier League. With the bat, Dinesh Karthik scored an incredible 66 off 34 deliveries for the RCB, before Josh Hazlewood dominated the bowling attack with stats of 3/28 in four overs to seal the franchise’s fourth triumph.  The RCB scored 189/5, owing largely to Karthik and Glenn Maxwell (55 off 34 deliveries). David Warner got DC off to a good start in the run chase (66 off 38 balls), however Mitchell Marsh’s troubles (14 off 24 balls) limited DC’s run-scoring in the chase. Rishabh Pant (34 off 18 balls) attempted to resuscitate the Capitals’ chase, but his efforts were in vain.

With eight points from six games, Royal Challengers are in third place in the points standings. Dinesh Karthik, the veteran wicket-keeper batter, has been in outstanding form for the club and has played a key part in their victories. Karthik has smashed 197 runs at an incredible strike rate of 209.57 in six outings.
