Watch: Stunned Virat Kohli walks back after unlucky lbw dismissal
The former team India captain Virat Kohli tried his hands to add a big score at his second home Bengaluru, but instead was stunned after an lbw from off-spinner Dhananjaya de Silva in the second Test between India and Sri Lanka on Saturday, March 12.
The 33-year-old was looking good with his bat but on the third ball of the 28th over, he was sent back to the pavilion by de Silva. Off-spinner de Silva delivered an off-cutter, which was lower than expected. Virat Kohli attempted a simple dab to turn the ball towards the on-side. But the ball didn’t rise at all and hit Virat Kohli just above the ankle. The umpire didn’t hesitate to raise his finger as the ball would have hit just above the base of the leg-stump. With this lbw, the shocked Kohli dragged himself back to the pavilion after scoring just 23 off 48 balls. The crowd who were cheering vociferously for him were disappointed as well.

The second Test between India and Sri Lanka
India won the 1st game of the bilateral series against Sri Lanka. In the first game, which was played in Mohali, India defeated Sri Lanka by 222 runs and an innings. As the 2nd game is played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium between the two countries, India did not have the best start as the score reads 93/4 on the first day on Saturday, March 12 in Bengaluru.
India had won the toss and opted to bat with opener Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma. Agarwal was the first to get out after a dramatic run-out on a no-ball. Sharma too didn’t score much (15 off 25) after giving his wickets to Lasith Embuldeniya to gully. Hanuma Vihari who scored a good 31 off 81 balls, gave his wicket to Praveen Jayawickrama by failing to keep out a sharp turner. Standing at the crease are the former Delhi Capitals teammates Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer who are now eyeing to add runs past 200 in the first innings.
