WATCH: Washington Sundar plays outrageous shot in first ODI against New Zealand

Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar showed off his A-grade game in the first ODI against New Zealand on Friday (November 25). Coming to bat at the death over, he took the bowlers to the cleaners. He smashed an unbeaten 37 off just 16 deliveries to help India cross the 300-mark.

During his knock, he played an eye-catching 360 degree shot, which caught the attention of the fans. On the last ball of Matt Henry’s over, Sundar shuffled around the crease to send an off-sided full delivery over the short-fine fielder for a boundary. The clip has gone viral on the internet.

Apart from that, India’s top three of Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer, all scored fifty. Sanju Samson also played a crucial knock of 36 off 38 deliveries. Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson picked up three wickets each as team India posted a total of 307 for the home side. However, the odds were in favour of New Zealand and they didn’t disappoint their fans with their terrific display of batting. Coming out to chase, the Kiwis got off to a bad start as they lost both of their openers in the early phase of the game. Captain Kane Williamson then took charge of the sinking ship and was hoping for some support from the other end. Fortunately, wicketkeeper Tom Latham took the responsibility.

They both stitched up a valuable partnership to avoid any further loss. While Williamson was batting more cautiously, Latham performed as an aggressor. He smashed a hundred and took the game away from the visitors. While he remained unbeaten at 145, Williamson got 94 under his belt.
