The young leg-spinner Rahul Chahar is a new addition to the list of players who utilized the platform provided by the Indian Premier League to showcase their mettle. Chahar is a product of the T20 extravaganza and boasts of having a fine cricket career ahead. Rahul Chahar has seen a lot of ups and downs in his cricket career so far. 

The leg-spinner performed decently in the domestic circuit and earned a place in India’s under-19 team. However, Chahar kept moving in and out of the Under-19 playing XI as he failed to cement a spot in the squad. A breakthrough point in Rahul’s career came in 2017 when he got a chance to pick the brains of MS Dhoni and Steve Smith after getting included in the Pune Supergiants team for the 2017 edition. 

The spinner featured in just three IPL matches throughout the season. However, getting picked by Mumbai Indians in 2018 proved to be the turning point in Rahul Chahar’s career. The leggie shared the dressing room with some of the legends of the game and worked hard to improve his bowling. It was in 2020 that Chahar received the deserved credit as he caused carnage with the ball in the UAE for MI.

An impressive performance in the T20 league also resulted in the 22-year-old making a place for himself in the Indian squad in the shortest format of the game. The spinner forms a part of the Men in Blue for the upcoming T20 World Cup and he will aim to make the most out of the opportunity provided to him to cement his place in the team. 

Many might be surprised to know that Rahul Chahar got engaged with his long-time girlfriend Ishani at the age of 20. Rahul has been quite vocal about his love as he keeps sharing some beautiful pictures with Ishani on his official social media handles. However, not much is known about Rahul’s girlfriend as Ishani is a private person.
