“Would love to get him out” – Wanindu Hasaranga names his dream wicket

Sri Lanka spinner Wanindu Hasaranga is currently having a dream run across various franchise tournaments across the globe. After a successful time in the Abu Dhabi T10 League, the 24-year-old has claimed seven wickets in four games in the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2021.
In a recent media interaction, the mystery spinner shed light on his dream wicket amongst international players. Hasaranga mentioned that he would love to get out India’s red-ball team skipper Virat Kohli as the right-handed batter is his favourite cricketer. Interestingly, the duo has played together for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The Sri Lankan cricketer also expressed his desire to pick the scalps of Pakistan’s ace batter Babar Azam and top Aussie all-rounder, Glenn Maxwell, in his career.
“I would love to get my favourite cricketer, Virat Kohli’s wicket someday. I also want to pick Babar Azam and Glenn Maxwell’s wickets as well,” Hasaranga said when asked to name the players who he wishes to dismiss in his career.

The right-time leg-break bowler stated that he always takes the field with an attacking mindset and tries to get as many wickets as possible.
“When I am bowling, I always try to take wickets. When I am in the national team, I always try to do my best for the team. That’s why I am successful,” he said.
Hasaranga signed off while saying that he doesn’t burden himself to be the next Muttiah Muralitharan or Rangana Herath after being compared by the media.
“I am always motivated to perform. I don’t feel any pressure. I don’t want to be the next Muralitharan or the next Herath. I want to be the first Hasaranga,” he said.
