Most cricket fans are aware about Yuzvendra Chahal being a lethal bowler for the Indian cricket team. But did you know, Chahal is an extremely skilled chess player as well?

Don’t be surprised, prior to submitted to his love for cricket, Chahal also represented India on an international level when he was young.

Although Chahal no longer plays chess professionally, his love for the game is not over. Now, the 30-year-old will get a chance to test his skills against grandmaster Vishwanathan Anand.

Chahal’s wife announced this exciting news on her Instagram account. Along with Chahal, many big names will join Anand for this event on June 13.

As for the details of the event, this will be COVID fund raising charity event to feature several big names from various industries. Along with Chahal and Anand, names such as Aamir Khan, Manu Kumar Jain, Ritiesh Deshmukh, Ananya Birla, and Arijit Singh will be participating in this event.

Anand was delighted for this opportunity as he tweeted, “Looking forward to play some exciting chess.”

This charity event is a great initiative, but for Chahal, he has bigger things lined up in the future. He will be making his comeback for Men in Blue against Sri Lanka in July.
