“10 rupay ki Pepsi…” RR fielding coach Dishant Yagnik teases Yuzvendra Chahal after the win over SRH

Yuzvendra Chahal who was the star performer and helped Rajasthan Royals’ win over Sunrisers Hyderabad, could be seen returning to the dressing room when, from behind, fielding coach Dishant Yagnik teased him by chanting “10 rupay ki Pepsi, Yuzi bhai sexy”.

You can see the video clip shared by RR on Wednesday, March 30 as Chahal only smiled in response to the chant. RR shared with the caption: “The chant has made its way from the stands in Pune to the dressing room”. In the comments, coach Yagnik replied cheekily by commenting: “It’s my voice seems.”

Cricket fans all across India have started chanting the same phrase “10 rupay ki Pepsi, (player name) bhai sexy”. Before Chahal, Shreyas Iyer’s Test debut against New Zealand in November was also cherished by the same chant.

The RR started their campaign fantastically by hammering SRH with 61 runs at the MCA stadium in Pune. Yuzvendra Chahal had taken 3 wickets and conceded 22 runs. He grabbed wickets of Abdul Samad, Abhishek Sharma, and Romario Shepherd as Hyderabad were stopped at 149 for 7 in their reply to RR’s 210.

Speaking to TOI ahead of RR’s first match against SRH, Yuzvendra Chahal clarified the questions that fans kept asking about why he wasn’t retained by the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

He said: “They didn’t ask me whether I wanted to be retained or tell me if they wanted to retain me. They just talked about the three retentions and I was told that- ‘we will go for you in the auction’. Neither was I asked about money nor did I get any offer for retention. But I will always be loyal to my Bangalore fans. I love them so much, no matter what.”

People and fans on social media are still asking me ‘why did you ask for this much money?’. The reality is that Mike Hesson (RCB Director of Cricket) called me and said ‘Listen Yuzi, there are three retentions’ (Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj),” he added.
