‘I don’t follow the records, the records follow me’. This statement by Cristiano Ronaldo keeps proving it’s worth in gold every now and then. Breaking records is everyday business for the Portuguese superstar, be it on or off the field. Even though his brilliant goal scoring ability is what stands out the most in his game, a recent comment made by the star has seemingly broken another record which nobody saw coming.
The former Real Madrid star and club legend recently commented a heartfelt message welcoming Kylian Mbappe to Spain. The Frenchman signed for the Los Blancos till 2029, thereby putting an end to the biggest transfer saga in football.
“My turn to. Excited to see you light up the Bernabeu. #HalaMadrid“- This was Cristiano Ronaldo‘s record-breaking comment under Mbappe’s post, which the Frenchman put up after his move to Spain was made official. It has over 4.5 million likes since it was posted two days ago!
Mbappe’s post featured pictures of his younger self donning a Real Madrid jumper and a shot with the legend Ronaldo himself. The pictures make his arrival to the club seem like a dream come true for both player and club.
Fans are excited and cannot wait for this new chapter in Mbappe’s career. The 15-time Champions League winners have just added one of the best players in the world to their squad – Europe beware.
Kylian Mbappe shines in first game after announcing move to Madrid
As if Kylian Mbappe’s goal scoring abilities weren’t known all over Europe, the Frenchman made sure to put up a show in his first game after making his move to Madrid official. Two impressive assists and a goal against Luxembourg helped the Les Bleus comfortably ease past their opponents in an international friendly ahead of the Euros.
France are one of the biggest favorites to lift the trophy and they owe Mbappe a large share for the same. The forward was threatening to score from the very start, as he gave the opposition defenders not a moment’s respite. However, it was Randal Kolo Muani who gave France the lead on the night after heading the ball past the keeper from a cross by Mbappe.
25 minutes into the second half, Jonathan Clauss fired in an explosive shot from outside the box after picking up the ball from Mbappe. After a busy night setting up chances for his teammates, it was finally Mbappe’s moment to etch his name on the scoresheet. Mbappe reacted to a quick pass from PSG star Bradley Barcola and moments later, the ball was in the back of the net. The game ended 3-0 in favor of the hosts.
