Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have been rivals throughout their history. The two biggest clubs in Spain and arguably the world are also responsible for producing top talent over the years. From Lionel Messi to Cristiano Ronaldo and now Jude Bellingham and Lamine Yamal, the names keep on coming. Recently, Madrid legend and Al-Nassr star Ronaldo heaped praise on Yamal and claimed that he’s on his way to becoming one of the best.
It isn’t every day that Cristiano Ronaldo opts to name a Barcelona player as one of the next big things and, moreover, praise their talent. Recently, Al-Nassr’s iconic No. 7 went on the record to state that the Spaniard has what it takes to play at the biggest level for the biggest clubs on the planet. Yamal also made headlines for scoring his first-ever UEFA Champions League goal in a 2-1 defeat against AS Monaco.

Yamal has been the best player for Barcelona this season, scoring four times and assisting as many times in six games. Besides Lamine, Alejandro Garnacho has also racked up seven goal contributions for Manchester United.
Lamine Yamal ‘just getting started’ as player beats Messi and Ronaldo to unique achievement
Lamine Yamal comes from a set of very few players who have what it takes to play football at the biggest stage at 17. The teenager took centre stage as FC Barcelona opened their Champions League campaign against AS Monaco at Stade Louis II. Yamal made history as he equalized for 10-man Barcelona after cutting in on his left.
His goal made him the second-youngest player to score in the UCL, only being behind teammate and friend Ansu Fati. However, aged 17 years and 68 days, he is quicker than both Lionel Messi (17 years 5 months 13 days) and Cristiano Ronaldo (21 years 11 months 29 days) to the same. After the frustrating result, Yamal took to Instagram, where he shared his joy at bagging his first goal.
However, he said that things are only getting started, and with seven more games left for Barca, there is everything to play for. A fan commented that Yamal is truly shaping up to be the next big thing and may even overshadow players like Kylian Mbappe and Jude if Barcelona manage to find their form.
