Cristiano Ronaldo is synonymous with Manchester United thanks to a brilliant initial spell with the Red Devils. The 39-year-old currently plies his trade in Saudi Arabia, as he captains Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. The No.7 joined the Saudi outfit back in December 2022 and has been their most important player ever since.

Recently, fans have been put on high alert after a former United star claimed that Ronaldo has it in him to make a return to the club for a third time. Although many consider that the club’s relationship with the player was ruined last time around, Louis Saha certainly thought otherwise. The Frenchman weighed the possibility of Ronaldo returning in a managerial position and suggested that he would be a perfect fit.

Cristiano Ronaldo set to ‘lose’ Al-Nassr strike partner to former teammate

Cristiano Ronaldo has struck up quite the partnership with former Liverpool man Sadio Mane. The Senegalese forward joined Al-Nassr from Bayern Munich in 2023 and has scored 15 goals and set up another 10 in the meanwhile. As Ronaldo runs the risk of losing his partner up front, it was revealed that Karim Benzema played a huge role in the proposed move.

As per reports, Benzema requested the signing of the Al-Nassr forward with the intention of boosting Al-Ittihad’s chances of winning the League title. The side led by Benzema in attack finished fifth and will look to escape another embarrassing finish this season.

Several other news sources claim that Mane is pushing for the move after falling out with the Portuguese superstar. This however, is in contrast to what Mane’s agent told Fabrizio Romano. The agent stated that his client has no intentions to leave and is extremely happy at the club.

Ronaldo recently came under harsh criticism for his viral gesture aimed toward his own teammates as Al-Nassr crumbled against Al-Hilal in the Super Cup. Despite opening the score in the final, the 39-year-old helplessly watched on as Al-Hilal made a valiant comeback in the second half.
