Cristiano Ronaldo may QUIT Manchester United in the summer amidst concerns over his role and the quality of the squad
Cristiano Ronaldo could make a move away from Old Trafford with the recent concerns over his role and the current situation at Manchester United as the team is unable to find consistency, with Ronaldo himself is experiencing a goal drought at the moment having failed to score in five club games for the first since 2010. The five-time Ballon D’or winner made a sensational return in the summer to the Red Devils after 12 years.
Ronaldo announced his return in fine fashion scoring five goals in first four games and the fans surely believed that he is the player which will take them back to glory days. However the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the inconsistent performances of the team all season it is safe to say that the forward’s return to the club has not gone to plan. According to The Sun, the Euro 2016 winner is considering leaving the club again for a second time before his two-year deal runs out in the summer of 2023.
Manchester United have gone eight years without winning the Premier League and even this season they’re out of the both Carabao Cup and the FA Cup and trail league leaders Manchester City by a whopping 21 points. Unless Ralf Rangnick pulls off something extraordinary out of his players and take them to Champions League glory, which is highly unlikely given the form United are at the moment. Hence it will be fifth straight year without a piece of silverware for the club.
Is Cristiano Ronaldo a help or a hinderance for Manchester United ?
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a fair amount of goals this season following his return and the former Real Madrid and Juventus player is the reason United are in the knockout stage of the Champions League as he scored some crucial goals against the likes of Atalanta and Villarreal in the group stage. Though the veteran striker is experiencing a goal drought at the moment but Ronaldo’s quality in front of goal is impeccable.
Ralf Rangnick left Ronaldo on the bench in their last Premier League game against Burnley with the interim manager saying that the pressing game and winning second balls suits more to Cavani than the Portuguese international.
