Cristiano Ronaldo is no stranger to scoring a bicycle kick. In fact, the Portuguese superstar owns one of the most iconic bicycle kicks in the history of the sport. However, Ronaldo was far from it as he attempted to recreate the same as Al-Nassr took on Al-Riyadh in the Saudi Pro League on Thursday.

Clips of the incident that have gone viral on social media show the forward attempting an unbelievable bicycle kick. The No.7 completely missed the ball from a corner kick while attempting a stunning shot from near the box. However, Ronaldo was spared from the embarrassment as his teammates combined to put the ball in the back of the net.

Meshari Fahad Al-Nemer was at the right place at the right time to guide the ball into the back of the net, thereby salvaging a point for the visitors in the seventh minute of extra-time.

After missing out on the League title to rivals Al-Hilal yet again, the Faris Najd will look to regroup and go again next season. Their final game of the season is against Al-Ittihad on Monday.

Football X can be a cruel place. Cristiano Ronaldo fell victim to numerous trolls and mockery as the No.7 failed to pull off a bicycle kick. A fan commented that his ‘fail’ was by far one of the most embarrassing moments of the season. Another laughed at the same, calling it a ‘Bluetooth’ bicycle kick goal.

As Ronaldo fan pages were attempting to glorify the same, rival fans hilariously claimed that their fans were desperately in need of something to celebrate. A fan posted another missed chance from the same game, where the No.7 attempted to chip the keeper, only for the ball to go agonizingly wide of the post.

Yet another comment showed how the game had almost 14 minutes of extra-time, as if they were waiting for Ronaldo to score. From fan attendance to ‘dead’ atmosphere, users pointed out every little detail which went against the Portuguese and his fans. Despite his embarrassing miss, Ronaldo has been in red-hot form and is on the verge of completing a 50-goal season for the first time since 2016!
