Cristiano Ronaldo suffers ankle injury in the match against Lazio

Juventus fell to a last gasp equalizer by Caicedo to finish the match 1-1 with Lazio in Serie A. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for Juventus in the 15th minute through a tap in from a Cuadrado cross. Pirlo substituted Ronaldo with 15 minutes to go as a precaution for the injury scare in the clash with Luis Alberto. This proved costly for Juventus as Lazio grew in confidence and got the equalizer.

Pirlo confirmed the injury of Ronaldo and said to DAZN, “Ronaldo is a key player not only for us but for all the teams he has played for. Unfortunately he had an ankle problem and was forced to leave the field.”

Pirlo was incensed with Juve for conceding the late goal and said, “We had a good match, they had never shot us on goal, there were no signs, but we have to take care of every little detail. We didn’t manage the ball in the last 10 seconds. We are satisfied with the game, unfortunately not with the result.”

Ronaldo now faces a race to be fit for Portugal during the international break with games against France and Croatia. Meanwhile, Juventus will be relieved that Ronaldo won’t miss any games for them and will be hoping he will be fit after the international break for the match against Cagilari.
