Sami Zayn gained a hard-fought victory in the main event on last night’s Raw. He defeated his ‘coach’ and friend, Chad Gable, and successfully retained his Intercontinental Championship. Moreover, Zayn emerged victorious in front of his home crowd in Montreal. During the post-match celebrations, Gable snapped while the champ was hugging his wife. The 38-year-old turned heel and attacked Zayn as the show went off the air.

Unsurprisingly, The Alpha Academy leader was hurled with “F*ck you Gable” chants. Despite taking Zayn to his limit, Gable once again fell short in his pursuit of the Intercontinental title. Furthermore, he let his emotions get the better of him as he watched the former Bloodline member celebrate with his family. The closing shot of Raw saw Chad Gable apply a vicious ankle lock to Sami on the turnbuckle.

As for the match, it might’ve ended up being one of the best television bouts of the year. These two men have proved that they have brilliant in-ring chemistry. Similar to their Gauntlet match, Gable worked on Sami Zayn‘s ankle throughout their battle.

Now, the heel turn has added more intrigue to the Intercontinental Championship scene. It will be interesting to see how Gable justifies his actions on next week’s edition of Raw. By the looks of it, a rematch at Backlash: France might be the direction WWE is headed in.

Akira Tozawa reacts to Chad Gable’s heel turn on Raw

Chad Gable’s obsession with trying to win the Intercontinental Championship boiled over on Raw. And fans are not only waiting for Sami Zayn’s reaction but are also anticipating his faction, The Alpha Academy, to respond. However, one of the faction’s members, Akira Tozawa, took no time in reacting to what transpired.

Tozawa, who joined The Alpha Academy in late 2023, has been shown as a comical character. Despite that, the Japanese wrestler seemingly has no problem with what his ‘coach’ did to Zayn. This reaction on X has led many fans to believe that Tozawa, just like Gable, might be turning heel as well.

At the moment, Otis and Maxxine Dupri have yet to respond to the shock ending. Dupri competed on last night’s episode, teaming with Ivy Nile to face Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell. However, the latter team ‘cheated’ their way to victory.
