This was not the first time the 35-year-old was eliminated in the first round of the same tournament. He participated in the last King of the Ring tournament in 2021. The formerly known Prince Puma was eliminated in the first round by the eventual winner of the tournament, Xavier Woods.
#1 Contender’s Tournament for Ricochet’s Speed Championship set to take this week
Ricochet displayed a stellar performance in the recently held WWE Speed tournament. The Highlight of the Night beat Johnny Gargano in the finals to be crowned the first-ever Speed Champion. However, there is no rest for the weary. A #1 contender’s tournament for the championship was announced immediately after him being crowned champion.
Starting this Wednesday, the mini-tournament will comprise three matches to determine the next opponent for the former United States Champion. Apollo Crews will be taking on the Viking, Ivar. Meanwhile, Tyler Bate will face Legado Del Fantasma member Berto.
The winner of these two matches will face each other for the chance to challenge for the WWE Speed Championship. The venture has been highly successful for the Stamford-based company, debuting at 4 million views, and is rumored to only be growing in popularity. With WWE announcing another mini-tournament, the company appears to be interested in continuing the same format in the near future.
