Curtis Blaydes vs Derrick Lewis is just weeks away! The All American fight will take place at UFC Apex on the 28th of November – a battle between number 2 ranked and number 4 ranked heavyweight contenders. Both the fighters are riding a hot win streak, which definitely adds spice to the contest.

Now, speaking ahead of his fight, Curtis “Razor” Blaydes, had lots to say about the Heavyweight division. He even spoke about Heavyweight newcomer and “Potential” GOAT, Jon Jones, claiming that “Bones” will find the new division really difficult.

Speaking to LineMovement MMA with James Lynch, Curtis was quoted as saying, “I think he will do one heavyweight fight, against one guy Stipe. And then win lose or draw, even if he wins, he vacates that belt, and goes back down to light heavyweight. He is not a legitimate heavyweight.”

Curtis Blaydes, also spoke about the possibility of fighting Jon Jones, one day. He said, “He’s the potential GOAT. When you get to go up against a potential GOAT, it’s always good for your career”.

It will be interesting to see how things pan out in the heavyweight division, given that Jon Jones is also in the mix. Right now, it is Francis Ngannou who is at the top of the pecking order, and the winner of Blaydes vs Lewis will definitely face the “Predator” to eventually earn a shot at the title. As for Jon Jones, we will have to wait and watch how the UFC deals with him!
