Curtis Blaydes breaks silence on his loss against Derrick Lewis
UFC heavyweight clash between Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis just went down at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs Lewis and the fight ended after Lewis landed a nasty uppercut to knock Blaydes out.
Blaydes was a massive betting favorite in the fight and Lewis provided the biggest upset after Rockhold vs Bisping fight, Blaydes appeared to be the better fighter in the first round, he stunned Lewis and was landing some nice kicks and punches, he didn’t resort to his wrestling and was winning the fight.
In the second round he was still coming out to be aggressive but as soon as he went for a takedown, Lewis connected with a perfectly timed uppercut and knocked Blaydes out cold.
After his loss Blaydes has finally issued a statement which reads as follows, “Sometimes you’re the hammer and sometimes you’re the nail. This game has a razor-thin margin for error and I just got caught, it happens. Props to Derrick. No shame in it, my head still held high”
“Waiting for Black History month to be over, so I can make fun of Curtis,” Lewis isn’t letting Blaydes go that easy
Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis exchanged some heated conversation before their fight, Blaydes talked about how he would take Lewis down and also commented on his bad conditioning.
Now that the fight is over and Lewis holds a victory over him, he is not letting Curtis go even after the fight. He recently tweeted, “Waiting for black history month to be over with so I can make fun of Curtis for talking shit before the fight.”
Now this is the least we can expect from “The Black Beast” after such incredible performance.
