Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell will miss the team’s clash against arch-rivals England on November 4 in Ahmedabad after falling victim to a freak golfing injury on Monday evening. He fell from a golf cart and got injured.
As per a report published by Espncricinfo, Maxwell was holding the back of the golf cart and lost his grip. He is expected to recover completely after six to eight days.
He's doing fine. He'll start some light exercises today and we feel as though it will be a reasonably straightforward return-to-play protocol.Coach Andrew Mcdonald told Espncricinfo.
He added:
I suppose the fortunate part was there was no other injury sustained which could have been a lot worse than it currently is.
After Australia’s match against New Zealand in Dharamshala, the players got two off days and they spent it as they wished it. Several players used the time to play internal golfing tournaments. As Maxwell won’t be playing against England, the management can include either Marcus Stoinis or Cameron Green as his replacement.
