It’s on rare occasions one gets to hear MS Dhoni speak on cricket after retiring from international cricket. He usually gives his statements during the post-match presentation of the Indian Premier League (IPL) while playing for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). But recently, Dhoni gave his verdict on whether Rohit Sharma and company will win the 2023 ODI World Cup or not.

The Men in Blue have won five consecutive matches they have played so far. They crushed Australia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand to remain undefeated in the tournament so far. The two-time World Cup captain thinks the team is good but stopped himself from saying much.

Former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar has made a stunning revelation about India’s 2019 World Cup semi-final loss to New Zealand. During the run chase, MS Dhoni was India’s last hope but his run out ended all the chance to advance to the final as the Men in Blue got thumped by 18 runs while chasing 238 runs.

Bangar, while doing commentary during India’s match against New Zealand, recalled the dressing room scene following the heartbreaking defeat. He said players, including Dhoni, Rishabh Pant, and Hardik Pandya cried bitterly like kids in the dressing room.

During that event in Bengaluru, Dhoni was asked if he cried after the loss to which Captain Cool said it was tough to control one’s emotions after the heartbreaking defeat. He revealed that he had decided to bid adieu to international cricket after that semi-final loss but announced it officially a year later.
