Lately, there have been quite a handful of speculations surrounding Dak Prescott’s potential exit from the Dallas Cowboys. Despite leading his team to the NFC East title and clinching the playoff berth as the second-seeded team in the conference, the star quarterback remains in a contract standoff with his team, which is anticipated to lead him to free agency in next offseason.

Having said that, sports analyst Night Wright put forward a potential landing spot for Prescott once he hit the free agency– the New York Giants. Interestingly, Prescott isn’t the only name Wright predicts to move to New York as he coincided his path with legendary head coach Bill Belichick, who after failing to land a coaching job this offseason, entered the broadcasting industry.

During his recent appearance on FS1’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Wright suggested that Belichick might return to the NFL in 2025 alongside Prescott with the Cowboys. According to Wright, having these two high-profile figures could give the Giants a chance to rebrand themselves, especially in the wake of losing a key player like Saquon Barkley this offseason.

And I've been saying it, I will keep saying it. I really think Dak Prescott, Bill Belichick, package deal to the New York Giants a year from now is going to happen. I think the Giants get to rebrand entirely and steal the Cowboys quarterback, and Dak gets something like three years, $200 million guaranteed, and that's where this thing ends up going.

If Prescott ends up joining the Giants, who have been long-standing rivals of the Cowboys, he might earn a deserving deal that Jerry Jones didn’t offer, and on an added note, it can be a sweet redress of how things ended.

Nick Wright doubts Dak Prescott’s contract extension with Cowboys

While talking on the subject, the sports analyst highlighted the apparent delay in the contract negotiation and argued that it is highly unlikely that the Cowboys will sign the three-time Pro Bowler in an extension.

I don't think the Cowboys are going to pay it, because if they were going to, they would have. So, I think Dak's going to play out this year and then become a 31-year-old franchise quarterback with true and clear free agency.

The sports analyst dismissed all speculations about Prescott’s extension with the Cowboys and suggested that while Prescott might earn $65 million per year, it is unlikely to be with Dallas. In the meantime, the quarterback is focusing on the upcoming season and working to improve his playoff record if he succeeds.
