While recovering from the injury that prematurely stopped his 2024 season, Dak Prescott probably never envisioned seeing Micah Parsons leave the Dallas Cowboys.
He wanted the star pass rusher to get his contract extension, especially after he was rewarded handsomely ahead of the 2024 season. So did all the Cowboys players, who believed the Penn State star had done enough to warrant a major payday.
Then all hell broke loose when it came to light that billionaire owner Jerry Jones, after being frustrated by Parsons and his agent, traded the 26-year-old to the Green Bay Packers for a couple of first round picks, and D-tackle Kenny Clark.
He believed the trade killed two birds with one stone. On one hand, he did not have to pay the monumental $47 million Micah Parsons eventually received from the Packers. Secondly, Jones was able to solve the team’s run defense, which had been lacking while Parsons was on the team. Then, to bring in two draft picks was the cherry on top.
But for Prescott, those moves do not directly have an impact, as Jerry Jones had already made some changes to help his QB before they start the new season. When reporters asked the 32-year-old about his confidence after practice, he replied:
Yeah, most definitely. I’d say it’s the experience. I just say it’s the experience on top of all the work. Everything, all of that adding up, compounding, really. Just the years of playing this game and seeing defenses.

Dak Prescott has been playing with a lot of confidence. Is this as confident as he’s ever been? “Yeah, most definitely. I’d say it’s the experience. His words seem to suggest that whatever he has faced so far in his NFL career has helped build the confidence that he can perform well this season. Along with the offensive additions, he is confident of beating defenses.
Dak Prescott feels good after additions on offense
Before getting injured last season, Dak Prescott was vocal in calling out the deficiencies in the Dallas Cowboys’ offense. This season, owner Jerry Jones has answered his calls for better personnel, and that has added to Prescott’s confidence.
When you’ve got guys like CeeDee (Lamb) in his prime, and you got a guy like George (Pickens) that we were able to add, two elite guys with the rest of the crew (KaVontae Turpin, Jake Ferguson), a great run game, it’s hard not to be (confident).

The three-time Pro Bowler believes the team’s offseason additions will help them get to where they want to. They lost their season-opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, but then bounced back with an overtime win against the New York Giants.
As the retooled offense continues to learn each other’s nuances, it should get better. Their next game against the hapless Chicago Bears should reveal how far they have come in terms of offensive prowess.
Dak Prescott and Cowboys will face Micah Parsons in Week 4
Prescott should hope that his Dallas Cowboys offense finds its rhythm in their next game. Come week 4, they will face their old teammate, Micah Parsons, and the Green Bay Packers defense.

No matter how they try to mask their schemes, the Cowboys should know that their former teammate knows every little detail about them. Therefore, it will be the most difficult task of their young season.
Parsons will be looking for revenge after being cast away in this manner. He wanted to make AT&T Stadium his home for life, but situations proved otherwise, and he will be motivated to remind them what they lost.
The star pass rusher has registered just 1.5 sacks in his first two games and will be looking to play better in their next game against the Cleveland Browns. That should set him up for the epic clash on September 28th.
