The misery has begun early for fans of the Dallas Cowboys this season. America’s team just got their brakes beat off by the New Orleans Saints. It was a night to remember for Alvin Kamara as he had 4 touchdowns and Derek Carr solidified the narrative that he is out for redemption this season with a solid performance.

For Dak Prescott, it was a night he would hope to erase from his memory if he could. He is coming off of a dream week 1 wherein the Cowboys beat the Cleveland Browns 33-17 and Jerry Jones offered him a historic contract. But the party seems to be over as Prescott finished the game with 293 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions against the New Orleans Saints.

His first interception came in the second quarter as the Cowboys trailed 28-13 to the Saints. The quarterback attempted to throw a bullet pass to Jalen Brooks but it ended up being the easiest interception of Paulson Adebo‘s career. Prescott threw the ball right into his hands as Brooks attempted to dive to make the catch but was way off.

Fans react to Dak Prescott’s dismal outing against the Saints

His second interception came early on in the 4th quarter as the Cowboys were attempting to stage a comeback despite being down 41-19. Dak Prescott was hoping to throw the ball to CeeDee Lamb but the Saints’ defensive strategy for the wideout was to keep him under double coverage for the majority of the night.

It worked. As Prescott made the throw, just as CeeDee Lamb turned back to catch the ball, Tyrann Mathieu swooped right in and intercepted the pass. The Honeybadger jumped and made a tough catch. Fans were distraught after watching the quarterback cause yet another turnover and took to X to vent their frustration:

The Cowboys got blown out at home today. The defense had as much to do with the loss as Dak Prescott but the quarterback needs to step it up. Some of his incompletions tonight were absurd. The eyes were already on him and since he became the highest-paid player in the league, his gameplay will be looked at with a magnifying glass by fans and analysts alike.
