Dak Prescott recently got some temporary relief as the sexual assault cases against him have been dropped in Dallas County, and moved to a different Texas county, Collin County. This is as per the plaintiff’s attorney, Yoel Zehaie.

ESPN’s Todd Archer also confirmed the news, reporting the lawsuit was dropped in Dallas County, last week as the request of “non-suit without prejudice” submitted by Zehaie. By granting this request, the plaintiff was allowed to refile the suit.

Attorney Zehaie dismissed the speculations that the sexual assault charges have been dropped completely.

We are still moving forward. All of our claims will now be in the same court for purposes of convenience.
Yoel Zehaie said

The reason for doing so is entirely a matter of ‘convenience’ given the fact, that a prior suit by Prescott for extortion claim against the woman, was also brought in this County. The request was made on April 8 and the judge granted it on April 12.

Dak Prescott’s defense and the $100 million demand

As per the suit filed by Prescott, he sought over $1 million in damages against the woman, asserting she was attempting to extort $100 million from him based on the false sexual assault case. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback filed the suit after receiving a letter from the defendant’s attorneys Bethel and Yoel Zehaie, alleging Prescott sexually assaulted her following his rookie season in February 2017.

The letter asked Prescott to pay damages of $100 million to the victim of his alleged crime, as she is “willing to forego pursuing criminal charges, along with disclosing this information to the public, in exchange for compensating her for the mental anguish she has suffered,” as reported by NBC Sports’ Mike Florio

Michael Gehlken of Dallas Morning News reported the Dallas police are conducting an investigation of the sexual assault accusation and there is another investigation going on the extortion claim by the Prosper police.

Moreover, the NFL quarterback has pledged to donate any financial recovery obtained from his lawsuit to the Joyful Heart Foundation. It is worth noting that their mission is to create a world free from sexual assault, child abuse, and domestic violence.
