Dak Prescott has had a brilliant rise from being a 4th round draft pick to a superstar quarterback. To the extent that much of the success of the Dallas Cowboys success hinges on his ability to lead the offense. He is touted to be good enough to lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl. Nonetheless, a ranking released by Pro Football Focus of the best quarterbacks in the NFC caused quite a stir on the Internet.
The rankings placed Prescott as the best quarterback in the NFC, above the likes of Jalen Hurts and Brock Purdy. He was even placed above Matthew Stafford who actually won a Super Bowl and has been one of the best signal callers in the league for some time.
So, to put Prescott above Stafford and Hurts was too high a reach. He is the only quarterback among these four who has yet to play in the NFC Championship game. Putting a question mark to the very logic of the ranking.
However, PFF could have taken another logic. That is, he has consistently led the Dallas Cowboys to the playoffs. But they have not been able to take the next step, due to various reasons. A Super Bowl is the only target America’s team has. Therefore, the team also has to be great at all levels to come close to that goal.
This season, Prescott will have to earn his paycheck. The best way to do that will be to take the Cowboys deep into the postseason despite having a roster that has lost many good players. If he manages to do that, this ranking could be retrospectively accurate.
Fans unhappy with Dak Prescott’s ranking
NFL fans have seen the progression of Dak Prescott throughout the years. In all that time, they have seen him become the legitimate leader of the Dallas Cowboys and take charge of their offense. However, they have also seen the other quarterbacks on this ranking put out by Pro Football Focus. They believe Prescott should not be ranked above them.

They took to the social media post of this ranking and gave their own opinions about the same. Check out some of those reactions below:
Dak Prescott has a lot more to prove especially when compared to the other quarterbacks in the NFC. Therefore, time will tell if his place on this ranking holds true or not.
