The Dallas Cowboys have been one of the most consistent teams in the NFL for the past couple of years. The previous season, however, saw them being third in their division, behind the eventual champs Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders. Most of it is attributed to the failures of the offense, including the quarterback Dak Prescott. Adding to America’s Team’s worry, Prescott also got injured halfway into the season.
The highest-paid player in the history of the league sustained an injury in the Week 9 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Initially, it was diagnosed as a partial avulsion of the right hamstring and set to miss a few games. However, Jerry Jones, the team’s general manager and owner, announced that the player will undergo surgery for the injury.
Prescott has since recovered from the injury, admitting that he’s ready to boot up for a game right now. Speaking at the 35th annual Children’s Cancer Fund gala, Prescott noted that he’s striving to be up for the challenge, playing all regular-season games as well as the potential playoffs.
If I had to play a game today, I definitely could do that. It’s about moving forward healthy to make sure I can play 17 times, 20 [games] — whatever we get to when the time’s right.

However, he doesn’t want to rush the rehabilitation either. He noted that he’s getting closer to the position he wants. Nevertheless, he also confessed that he’s not going to put a percentage or calculate how ready he is to be back.
I know we’ve got team activities coming up, imagine myself being involved in some sort if not all. Then again I just understand my age, what I’ve had, what I’ve went through, it’s about being my best in the fall. So I’m not rushing anything, but I’m where I want to be.

Dak Prescott chimes in on the weight loss rumors
In the past weeks, Dak Prescott has been criticized for his weight loss. The rumors started when Jake Ferguson, a fellow teammate, uploaded a video in which Prescott appeared a few pounds lighter. Ferguson also called him by a new nickname in the video, “slim reaper”.

Prescott, a three-time Pro Bowler and once OROY, opened up about his physique and body at the gala.
He highlighted that his weight remains the same, but there has been a shift in where the majority of the weight is balanced. He further noted that he might be leaner on top compared to his legs, considering that he has been working out from his hamstrings.
I actually haven’t really lost any weight, weight’s just moved. Building my legs back up obviously from the hamstring. Might be leaner up top, but weight’s the same.

The Dallas Cowboys have kept a huge promise and expect a specific brand of football from the icon. Although the trade of longtime backup Cooper Rush opened up some breathing room, the Cowboys are strapped for performance. After the departure of Rush, they were left with Will Grier and traded in Joe Milton III as backup options in the coming year. In such a scenario, Prescott has a huge role to play.
