In Week 12, the Dallas Cowboys, led by Dak Prescott, will host the Philadelphia Eagles at Arlington. It’s shaping up to be a blockbuster, with the Eagles topping both the conference and division at 8-2, while the Cowboys got back on track by beating the Raiders in Vegas.
Prescott threw for 268 yards, completed 75% of his passes for 4 touchdowns, and had zero interceptions. The 32-year-old signal caller is well aware that the Eagles are a very different proposition compared to the Raiders, even though he’s 9-4 against the team from Philly in his career.
It’s a great time to hit the Eagles, as tension is brewing in the locker room between quarterback Jalen Hurts and the receivers. The Cowboys could use this development to their advantage.
However, the biggest storyline of the match is something else altogether. In the reverse fixture, the Eagles’ defensive tackle Jalen Carter was ejected and later fined for spitting on Dak Prescott.
On Thursday, reporters asked Prescott about what he would ask Carter when they see each other on the field.
Depends on what he says first, but probably something friendly. Get on his good side.
Dak Prescott joked
Last time the Cowboys played the Eagles, Philadelphia DT Jalen Carter was thrown out of the game for spitting on Dak Prescott.

Reporters asked Carter the same question. The third year DT quickly shut down the ‘spitgate’ talks and focused on highlighting the task at hand.
We’re not worried about that. We’re here where we are right now. And at the end of the day, everyone is playing, so that’s all we’re worried about.

Fans witnessed an incredible sight on the opening day of the season in Philly. Carter walked off after the referee ejected him following a minor coming together with Prescott before kickoff at the center circle.
The replay revealed the reason behind the sudden decision. Carter was caught throwing spit in the direction of the Cowboys quarterback.
In the post-game press conference, Carter claimed Prescott’s trash talk got him all worked up. However, he never intended to spit on him, and the camera angle made him out to be the bad guy. Regardless, the NFL viewed this as unsportsmanlike conduct and fined the Georgia graduate 50k.
The Eagles won the game, and Carter avoided a suspension.
Dak Prescott is set to play the Eagles while dealing with an injury
The 4-5-1 record can mislead one into believing that Prescott has struggled this year, which is not the case. Prescott put up MVP-caliber numbers, throwing for 2587 yards on 253 completions, 22 total touchdowns, and 6 interceptions.

He has done that while carrying a back soreness. The Eagles game means a lot for the Cowboys. A win could put them right back in the hunt for the East, while a loss would seriously hurt their playoff chances.
Prescott is ready to take on the Cowboys’ greatest foes, and a mild soreness will not stop him from missing out on this opportunity.
I’ll be completely fine. I’ve played with much more soreness.
Prescott said (H/T: Jon Machota of The Athletic)
Dak Prescott said his hip is fine, adding that he was a full participant in today’s practice. He fell on it during the game. Nothing serious. Just some soreness.
