Despite not having much material success in WWE, there is no doubt that Dakota Kai is immensely loved by the WWE Universe. She has been absent from WWE programming for a few months, and her fans have missed her a lot since. However, it appears that the 36-year-old may finally be on her way back.
A fan recently shared a GIF of Dakota Kai, expressing how much they missed seeing her on TV. In response, the New Zealander simply replied with an hourglass emoji, sparking speculation among fans. Many believed this was a hint that her return to WWE programming was imminent, suggesting that time was running down before she made a long-awaited appearance on screen once again.
WWE announced in early August that Kai had been dealing with a knee injury for a few weeks. She had torn her meniscus and required surgery that would put her out for 8-10 weeks. It is unclear when Kai’s injury actually occurred. It is only known that she wrestled her last match on July 27th at a SuperShow in Tokyo. Thus, when WWE found out about the injury, they decided to write her off TV after a brutal backstage beatdown at the hands of Pure Fusion Collective.
Kai has a history of knee injuries, and she was unable to wrestle for most of 2023 after going through something similar. Thankfully, the two-month timeframe is nearly over, and fans can expect the former Women’s Tag Team Champion to return to TV very soon. When the 36-year-old does return to TV, she can hopefully get the singles push that she has asked for repeatedly.
Dakota Kai reveals who her ‘bestie’ is in WWE
In a recent Instagram story, Dakota Kai revealed who she thought was her bestie in WWE. The Raw superstar posted a photo of backstage interviewer Cathy Kelley, saying that her bestie looked amazing in the post.
The two women are famously close friends in real life and have both been a part of Raw since the latest draft. They used to post several social media updates together before the 36-year-old was written off TV. Cathy Kelley also visited Kai’s native country of New Zealand last year.
Kai also shares an incredibly close relationship with Zelina Vega. The two have been friends for years, and have been running their own podcast for over a year. On the podcast, the two talk about playing video games, discussing their views on many diverse topics, and even inviting special guests.
