The 2024 NASCAR Cup season was marked with tough negotiations between the sanctioning body and the teams. Things spiraled into a bigger mess when the two teams refused sign the new deal, 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports, sued the France family and CEO Jim France alleging monopolistic practices.
Two times Busch series champion Dale Earnhardt Jr. via the latest episode of his podcast, Dale Jr. Download, discussed the latest details of the federal anti-trust lawsuit and shared his opinion on the potential result of it. He asserted that everyone would suffer from the legal actions but sees NASCAR surviving it. Junior also sees 23XI Racing coming out of it satisfied as well.
While further talking about the point, the Hall of Famer pointed out that there will not be a big winner from the lawsuit and added that there won’t be a major loser as well. He sees a positive result at the end with everyone getting at least something good out of it.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. praises Jim France’s character
In the same podcast, the JR Motorsports co-owner talked about the NASCAR CEO Jim France and how he is as a person. He pointed out that France is a guy easy to talk to, someone who is approachable, but a bit softer than his predecessors. Junior further stated that France is determined to maintain the integrity of the sport.
When the comments from Dale Jr. is assessed alongside the lawsuit saga, it seems Jim France will go all out against the 23XI-FRM coalition. It will be interesting to see how the lawsuit will playout for the teams and NASCAR.
