The two times Xfinity Series champion while addressing the comments made by NASCAR Senior VP Elton Sawyer defending the ruling, pointed out that he isn’t buying the arguments. He reckons NASCAR decided to give Stenhouse the huge fine because of the fact that the incident occurred in front of a lot cameras and media.

Whatever that means. That means nothing to me… I feel like, how we got to this big $75,000 penalty for Stenhouse is because that happened on such a large stage, that happened in front of so many cameras, cell phones, all of the media was involved, it was people spilling about in this massive brawl, and NASCAR was part of the promotion of that big moment, right?

Dale Earnhardt Jr. urges Ricky Stenhouse Jr. to appeal the penalty

Junior pointed out in the same podcast that the 2023 Daytona 500 champion should appeal the huge fine imposed on him. He reckons it is too much, but he has also warned the No:47 Chevy driver that if he wins the appeal, he would have a target on his back.

What else you got to lose. Why not appeal it? Even if to learn how the appeal process works and what that experience might be like. I’d be curious to do it. …But if you win, you kind of put a target on your back.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. said.

It would be interesting see if the JTGD Racing team would listen to the Hall of Famer and appeal the decision. Both NASCAR and the driver has some good arguments in the favour, so the appeal might not get the desired result for both the parties involved.
