One of the major discussions in the NASCAR community from the start of the Next-Gen has been hosting the Cup races in international venues. Many in the community, including the 2023 Cup champion Ryan Blaney recently pinpointed the unofficial season opener, The Clash, as the perfect race to host outside of US.
But Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. isn’t much excited about the whole commotion. In the latest episode of the Dale Jr. Download podcast, Junior pointed out that NASCAR would love to race in tracks in Europe or Brazil, where they have invested in racing, and he believes that Cup racing will be hosted in a new track sooner than later.
There’s this uh, they absolutely want to race in front of new audiences. NASCAR would love to race in Europe or, you see Brazil in the conversation on social media. And if that is something that we are absolutely going to see in the future.

Though he has no issues with it, Junior doesn’t care about Cup racing going overseas. He remains indifferent as this change doesn’t excites him much. Dale Jr. asserted that he wants be disappointed if the proposal to race outside US doesn’t work out.
Like, I don’t know if I love – I don’t care. I don’t care if my Cup racing goes overseas. I’m not for it or against it. It doesn’t excite me, you know, but I’ll watch it. But I’m not going to be sad if it doesn’t happen. Does that make sense?

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is annoyed with a group of NASCAR fans
Following The Clash, there were some sets of fans who were really critical of it despite it being an impressive race. I am so annoyed. This was like the perfect example of, ‘Oh, I don’t like that’ and that’s like the two extremes happening in the very same weekend. And both the same group of people complained about how silly the last chance race was and how boring the back half of the feature was. I’m like, gah man, can’t win. You’ve got to take the good with the bad.

The Hall of Famer used some NFSW language to back his argument and considering how some fans acted, he is right to do so. It would be interesting to see if the NASCAR fans would reconsider their stands, after the criticism from Dale Jr.
