NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. is still one of the biggest names in the sport, despite him retiring full-time racing in 2016. He still makes part-time start in the Xfinity Series with JR Motorsports, which he co-owns with Kelly Earnhardt. Just like most years, Junior is set to make another start this season.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is set to drive the No:88 Chevy this year at Bristol Motor Speedway, which is one of his favorite tracks. Last years he had an impressive race at the track, and he would be hoping to repeat the performance this season, where he has more freedom as he is no longer a broadcaster with NBC.

Recently while talking to Fox Sports abut his upcoming JRM race outing at Bristol, Junior pointed out that 2024 Bristol might be his last race of his NASCAR career. He pointed out that it’s a huge commitment to race at his age and admitted that he isn’t made the decision to call an end to racing in NASCAR yet.

I’m going into this race at Bristol this year knowing that it might be the last one I run. There’s nothing that really makes that decision. It’s just last year was a lot of fun, led some laps. But it is a big commitment. I just logged in the calendar the sim that I’m going to be doing to try to prepare for that.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. told Fox Sports.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. reveals he is missing broadcasting

Junior ended his broadcaster role with NBC at the end last season and is set to join the Amazon-TNT team for 2025 season and onwards. But because he doesn’t have a gig in 2024, he is missing calling the races from the booth.

I am missing the broadcast. I know NBC hasn’t started this year, and that’s going to be tough to tune in and see those guys and not be there with them because I’ve grown so comfortable working with all of the folks at NBC and certainly my friends in the booth.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. said.

The Hall of Famer in the same interview also highlighted that how he is getting himself ready for his new broadcasting role with the streaming partners of NASCAR for the 2025 season. It would be interesting to see how the gig will playout for the former Xfinity Series champion.
