Kyle Larson is arguably the best driver in the series. There’s a couple other names you could throw into that bucket. I want him to like racing at Daytona. Daytona is our cornerstone. The Daytona 500 is our most important event.

Further talking about the point, Dale Jr. explained that he wants the championships’ best drivers to love racing in events such as Daytona 500. He also revealed that Larson isn’t thrilled about Superspeedway racing, because he can’t do what he wants on such tracks.

I want our best driver fond of that event, fond of that race, fond of going there. I want him to be excited about it, right? And when he’s not that thrilled about it because he doesn’t feel like he can do what he wants to do, that’s frustrating for me.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. explains why Carson Hocevar apologized to Kyle Larson at Atlanta

In the same podcast, Dale Jr. shared his feelings about Carson Hocevar who had a wild race at Atlanta and him apologizing to Kyle Larson at Atalanta. He revealed that the Spire Motorsports driver apologized because he didn’t help his Chevy teammate Larson win the race as he helped Chrsitopher Bell as he wanted to win the race for himself.

I think he was apologizing to them because he didn’t help them at the end… I don’t think he was saying, ‘Hey, I’m sorry, Rick, for being a menace on the racetrack today.’ I think he was literally apologizing for a very specific choice he made that he thinks they might not have agreed with.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. said.

The comments from Junior shows if Hocevar had pushed the No:5 Chevy instead of pushing the Toyota to get to the front, Larson would have won the race. This might have given him a much better feelings about the upcoming Superspeedway races.
