Last month it was revealed that the reason for veteran Aric Almirola from Joe Gibbs Racing Xfinity garage was because of a physical altercation he had with 23XI Racing Bubba Wallace. During a Competition Meeting of JGR and 23XI driver ahead of the Charlotte race week the duo got into a fight and Joe Gibbs didn’t like the incident.

JGR after assessing the situation found that Aric Almirola, who has a dramatic history with Bubba Wallace was the instigator and suspended him. While discussing the same on his podcast Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. pointed out that the details about the fight might remain hidden and admitted that event Denny Hamlin won’t tell him out of respect for the drivers involved.

I don’t think we’ll ever really know. I could probably call Denny [Hamlin] and say give me the scoop, and he’d tell me. Out of respect to Bubba and Aric, it’s probably best that they be the ones to tell that story if they ever want to. …Things must have really gotten heated in that room…

Joe Gibbs Racing was able to keep the fight and suspension behind close doors for over a month before the news was broken. When it happened, everyone involved was probably over it. Bubba Wallace and Denny Hamlin gave vague answers to question about the incident, as they seem not interested in pondering over it.

I would trust their judgment and trust Joe Gibbs Racing’s judgment to make the decisions and handle this the way they think they needed to handle it. If it was to suspend Aric and pull him out of the car, then I trust that that’s what needed to happen.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. said.

He later admitted that he doesn’t think it is necessary for him to know further details about the incident and what he knows is sufficient. Junior hope that the incident wont derail Almirola’s retirement plans as he is set to make race return at Indy.
