Damian Lee wins it late for Golden State Warriors giving justice to Stephen Curry’s elite performance
Damian Lee scores a clutch 3-pointer with just over 2 seconds remaining to give the Golden State Warriors their first win of the season against Chicago Bulls. Stephen Curry comes up with another vital and stunning performance for the Warriors with 36 points, 6 assists, 2 blocks, 2 rebounds and 2 steals. With Andre Wiggins also getting a praise-worthy contribution of 19 points and 9 rebounds. Damian Lee kept his nerve during the last seconds of the game to finally make the Warriors finally come onto the win column sheet.
Stephen Curry was as phenomenal as ever, with five 3-pointers. Whereas Lee wasn’t far behind as he had four 3-pointers with a better accuracy rate (80%) than Stephen Curry. Eric Paschall also got in his grove to score 15 points as well.
Stephen Curry scores 36 as Golden State Warriors register first win
In this game Stephen Curry broke his record to join Reggie Miller and Ray Allen as the only NBA Players to make 2,500 career made threes.
The Dubs’ guard also made his first six consecutive free throws, extending his streak of made free throws in a row up to 61. That set a new franchise record for consecutive shots made for the charity stripe, eclipsing the mark held by Rick Barry who made 60 consecutives in 1976.
Lee had 12 points on the night, none bigger than those final three, as he put the dagger in the Bulls to give Golden State a 129-128 win and finally, mercifully, get them out of the basement of the league. Curry even seemed to get free momentarily at the end of his run off the Looney screen, but Lee had already looked in another direction and found Looney for a handoff play no one expected, but that resulted in a game-winner.
