Stephen Curry had a debut appearance that he would have dreamed of, at the Paris Olympics for Team USA. As basketball fans and analysts focus on his heroic performances on the world stage, other top shooters in the league have seemingly been ignored. Indeed, this was the view of Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard lately.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Club 520 Podcast, Lillard noted how people don’t really appreciate his shooting skills like they do with Stephen Curry. However, former NBA veteran Jeff Teague was of the opinion that both the Bucks player and Warriors star are in the same league.

I feel like you can shoot off the dribble better...The way you can shoot off the dribble though, I put you and Steph in a different realm.

But while responding to Teague’s comments, Damian Lillard remarked how he doesn’t get enough credit for what he does in the league. According to Lillard, people don’t speak about his accomplishments the same way they do to other players in the league, particularly Curry. He asserted that since this is going to be his 13th year in the NBA, the silence about what he does is definitely concerning.

It's different bro. They definitely don't talk about it. They act like I don't be doing what I've been doing. Like, this is going to be my 13th season.
Damian Lillard responded

Since being drafted in 2012 by the Portland Trail Blazers, the 34-year-old has become one of the most prolific scorers in the NBA. He has gone on to hit a total of 2,607 shots from beyond the arc in his career.

Damian Lillard says Stephen Curry is not the toughest player to guard

While on the Club 520 podcast, Damian Lillard also recalled his time with the Portland Trail Blazers. He then talked about the damage that Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors brought down on him and the team in 2016. Despite leading in both games, Lillard and his teammates were defeated by the three-point attack used relentlessly by the Warriors.

Nonetheless, he is adamant that Curry is nowhere close to being the toughest player to guard against.

I think just one-on-one like Kyrie is a tough matchup bro. You can guard him perfect, he’ll still make it either hand... And he do it where it don’t look like it’s hard too.

According to the Bucks star, the toughest player in that regard is Dallas Maverick point guard Kyrie Irving. Highly regarded as one of the best dribblers in the NBA, Kyrie Irving’s fluidity might be unrivalled. In the opinion of Lillard, he is a far more difficult opponent to face than Curry.
